Course Descriptions Andrea Olivera Ayurveda Tri-Dosha Mind & Body Therapy Workshop The Ayurvedic Tri-dosha Mind & Body Therapy Workshop is a 7-day Certificate Course designed for individuals who wish to enhance their present skills or begin a career in the healing arts. Day 1: Introduction Day 2: Demonstration, observation, Tri-doshic theory, aromatherapy, masks, three types of Ayurvedic touch, medicated Herbs, gemstones, the Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas) Day 3: Ayurvedic scalp treatment, Abhyangha; The seven step massage sequence, Day 4 – 6: Course practicum, Personal coaching. The Pitta treatment is also excellent for migraine and tension headaches, and for neck and shoulder pain. The Kapha treatment is recommended for preservation and maintenance, and aids in times of depression, lethargy, and boredom. Biographies Andrea Olivera
Andrea Olivera is an Ayurveda Specialist in downtown Toronto and the founder of The Andrea Olivera Centre for Ayurveda: The Mother of Healing. Her vision embodies the most current scientific information in the fields of Vedic medicine, cellular psychology and molecular nutrition. She has developed unique methods for relaxation and insight. They are founded on a rich tapestry of therapeutic techniques, spanning numerous cultures, and incorporating many models. As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Andrea has studied extensively in India. Some of her titles and qualifications include; Certified Aromatherapist, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Ayurvedic Neurotherapist, New Decision Therapist™ and Educator, Reiki Master, Living Foods Health Educator, and Professional Beauty Esthetician. Tony Tavares Tony Tavares is an Initiated Santero (Santeria priest) of Yemaya (afro-cuban mother Goddess and water/ocean Orisha) and Palero (initiate in the afro-cuban ancestor tradition of Palo Mayombe). Reiki master. Twenty years of study of various indigenous spiritual traditions focusing on shamanism, western mystery traditions and west African traditions (Yoruba and Congo). Xenia (Anandasakti) Splawinski
A gifted and highly skilled yoga teacher, Xenia Splawinski embodies the spirit and energy of a life committed to yoga. Since 1980, Xenia has devoted her life to the study, training and teaching of yoga. She counts many of the great yoga masters, both in India and North America as her mentors and guides. A certified instructor since 1991, she is proficient in several styles of yoga; dynamic Ashtanga, enlightening Himalayan, deep healing yoga Nidra, and Ayurvedic yoga, an individualized practice which helps re-align lifestyle to one of personal harmony. She integrates her extensive knowledge of meditation, pranayama, and chakra awareness into her teaching and her certification as an Ayurvedic self-care practitioner contributes to her well-rounded, holistic style. Xenia is honored to be a forerunner in the Canadian Yoga scene in her chosen styles of expertise. Xenia's playful, light-hearted spirit infuses the energy of her classes, allowing her students to experience the joy of yoga.
